Over the next few months I realised I will be travelling quite a bit via air and we all know how air travel can wreak havoc on our skin! One of my favourite skin saviours for post flight is the beautiful Chantecaille Jasmine and Lily Healing Mask. I love using this mask after a flight, if I have increased skin sensitivity/redness, needing some hydration, stressed or dull skin or “just because” as it works absolute wonders for my skin.
I bought this mask at the beginning of the year when I was having a crazy stressful week at work and I needed a little pick me up. I had done some research online via the Mecca Cosmetica online store and decided to purchase this as I was stressed which therefore would most likely show on my skin and it probably needed a bit of TLC. Ever since I purchased this mask, it has been on of my favourite treatment masks and it never fails to deliver for me.
I personally adore Chantecaille as a brand, they produce beautiful high-end luxury products that just look and feel luxury. I own a few items in their cosmetics line myself – the bronzer, primer and my personal favourite the Future Skin foundation. The quality of all these products are amazing, and whilst yes, they can become a bit costly, the results that I get in these products are a beautiful and natural complexion. This Jasmine and Lily Healing Mask is no exception, to me it really is a quality product that do bring (for me anyway) instant results.
What Is It?
The Chantecaille Jasmine and Lily Healing Mask is a beautiful and luxurious face mask that can also double as a night night cream that helps to soothe, hydrate and nourish sensitised skin or dry skin. The mask has a gel like cream texture which feels instantly cooling and soothing upon application. According to the Chantecaille website, 94% of the ingredients are derived from natural origins.
What Does It Do:
This is a facial mask that can be applied to the skin as a mask or as a night treatment. The Chantecaille Jasmine and Lily Healing Mask is packed with high quality botanicals which work to soothe, hydrate, calm and revive the skin. As per the Chantecaille website, the Lily extract is taken from the bulb of the flower and helps to soften and moisturise the skin. The Jasmine flower waxes act as an emollient to nourish and provide a moisture boost the skin which in turn will also leave the skin feeling beautiful, soft and hydrated after use. It also promotes cellular turnover. Other fantastic ingredients in this mask include chamomile which helps to calm any inflammation and help with repairing damaged tissue. The Chantecaille website recommends this for those with sensitive skins, skins over exposed to the elements (harsh winters and hot dry summers anyone?), jet lagged skin and skin which feels dehydrated and dull.

My Thoughts:
As mentioned earlier, this is one of my favourite treatment masks and I love the instant effect it has on my skin. I especially make an effort to use this when my skin is feeling very dehydrated, if it is extremely sensitive due to change in weather (spring time allergies I am looking at you!!!) or if my skin needs a pick me up due to stress. As soon as I put the the mask on, the gel cream like consistency feels instantly soothing on the skin and instantly calming. The instructions say to leave this mask on for about 10-20 minutes, but I sometimes have left this on for 30 to 45 minutes for some extra oomph before I wash this off. As noted before, you can also use this as a evening sleeping mask as well but that is something that I have yet to try (and I personally don’t love overnight masks myself, I feel like I will get product everywhere on my pillow as it hasn’t really ‘sunk’ in). The mask has a beautiful pleasant floral smell from all the botanicals which you can either love or hate. I find the scent quite soothing, calming and relaxing, it’s almost like being at a day spa or having some aromatherapy.
You can see the gel cream like consistency of the Chantecaille Jasmine and Lily Mask here.
As soon as I wash this mask off, I instantly notice a difference in my skin. It feels plump, hydrated and soft to touch. When looking closely in the mirror the skin looks revitalised, brightened, nourished, smooth with a slight glow. Redness is generally diminished when I use this when my skin is feeling a bit sensitive. I find that eczema around my neck would have also calmed down and is completely soothed. As you can tell, I love the effect this mask has on my sensitive skin and it just restores some normality and balance, which if you have sensitive, eczema prone skin, it is a god send.
Despite my love for this mask, it is not cheap (much like most Chantecaille products). It currently retails for AUD $133, USD $84 and GBP £60 for 50ml of product. I do find however, a little bit goes a very long way due to the consistency of the product. It is not like any other masks that I use which are thick or like a paste. I don’t need to use a lot to cover my whole face and neck and I generally save this mask for those times I really need the hydration/soothing or a pick me up. I also find that for the instant ‘fix’ it gives my skin, it is worth every penny for me. The benefit that this mask has on my skin defin.
Please note that this product is heavy with the botanicals and I know that a lot of ladies (and gents) with skin sensitivity can react to some of these oil, waxes or fragrances listed in the ingredients. I do have sensitive skin, but I I found this product to be completely fine for my skin. My skin loves this and the botanical ingredients listed. In saying that though EVERYONE is different, so if you do have very, very sensitive – please try a sample first (and I am not just saying that for this product but all products in general!).
Repurchase YAY or NAY:
Overall, I cannot sing my praises for this product enough. It is such a life saver for after plane travel. I am considering that the next time I fly, I might actually use this on the flight as my ‘overnight’ treatment to lock in some moisture and prevent my skin getting dehydrated. Personally, I feel it is a great pick me up for the skin when it feels stressed and needs some extra nourishment as it will instantly brighten and provide the skin with that extra boost of TLC. I still have a lot of product left of this mask, but when I do run out I will definitely repurchase as it does work wonders for my skin.
How Do I Get This:
If you are based in Australia, the only place to get Chantecaille is from Mecca Cosmetica Boutiques. If you are based in the UK, SpaceNK, Harrods, Liberty are some of the places to get your hands on this. For those US ladies (and gents) out there, the Chantecaille boutiques and high-end department store such as Saks Fifth Avenue, Bloomingdales and Nordstroms are your best bet.
